Catholic Review Program Update

A few weeks ago I mentioned I had gotten approved for the Catholic Reviewers Program. This past week I received my first book to review!

For my first book I chose How to Find Your Soulmate Without Losing Your Soul by Jason and Crystalina Evert. Last spring I heard Jason Evert speak at Pure Reality in Fort Worth, TX. He is very passionate about Theology of the Body and tours the country to teach teens and young adults about purity. So when I saw this book on the list of possible books to review I knew it would be a great read!

I’ve only read the first chapter but so far it’s a great read. Jason and Crystalina use a lot of “real life” examples from their lives and lives of others they have talked to on their spiritual journey. Which is helpful because it makes you feel like your not alone.

I look forward to seeing what this book brings me and will share with you my review of the book once I finish reading it. I hope it will encourage you to purchase the book and read it when you feel ready.

*DISCLAIMER: This review was written as part of the Catholic book reviewer program from The Catholic Company. FRIDAY DEALS – Walgreens & Publix

This week was a light week. Last week when we were in Orlando they asked us to sit in a sales presentation and gave us $75 in Publix Giftcards!! I also had a $3 RR from Walgreens to use up this week.

Sorry no pictures my mom forgets I try to take pictures and just puts everything away before I finish bringing everything in from the car.

PUBLIX SAVED 48%
Spent: $26.60
Saved: $24.88

Some of the great deals I scored were about 10 Green Giant Steamers Frozen Vegetables. They were on sale BOGO and then I had a $0.50/2 coupon so I snatched them for about $1 a piece which is great because they are close to $3 a piece before sales and coupons! I also had a rain check for some Honey Wheat bread that was BOGO a few weeks ago and they were out (granted we went the last day of the sale) so I picked that up while I was in the store. I really can’t remember what else I picked up sorry I promise next week I’ll have pictures.

WALGREENS SAVED 62%
Spent: $6.73
Saved: $11.05

I didn’t get anything all that exciting at Walgreens. I picked up some super cheap candy, Walgreens aluminum foil (there was an in-store Q for $0.59), and Lindsey Black Olives (yum). Like I said earlier my main reason for going to Walgreens was to use my $3 RR that was going to expire.

We don’t really need much from drugstores because over the summer when I was learning how to coupon I went CRAZY in the drugstores and I have a TON OF EVERYTHING from toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, razors, and feminine products. You name it we probably have it.

I found some CVS ECB when I was cleaning and sorting through my coupons but CVS didn’t have anything good this week so hopefully next week they’ll have some good deals for us to use them on.

Well that is all for now. Did anyone else do any shopping/get good deals this week? Let me know!
