Publix & Food Lion Deals – Saved 55%

This post is about a week late but bare with me because my blog was basically down all last week. I finally made the big plunge and transferred from Blogger to Self-hosted WordPress.

Last week I went to Publix & Food Lion and got some GREAT DEALS. Yes I only saved 53% but my goal in any shopping trip is to save 50% so I made that goal!

Let me start with Food Lion because I only got one item. Food Lion was having a Big Deal sale. When you bought 10 of certain items you got $5 off your order. One of the items they had on sale was brawny paper towels 1 roll on sale for 10/$10 (so $1 a piece). I had $0.50 off coupons. I only have 4 coupons (that is how many papers I get) and by the time I found out about the sale thanks to Cilla’s Deals I didn’t have time to order/find 6 more coupons. However I still got a good deal. Here is the deal broken down:

10 Rolls of paper towels  $10

4 $0.50 off Man Q            -$2

Big Deal Instant Deal      -$5

Final Price                            $3

That is over 70% in savings which is really good in my book! We have a TON of paper towels right now, we’re getting pretty close to that girl that was on “that show” a few weeks ago. But trust me we have NO WHERE near the amount of paper products as her.

*Paper Product Tip: Paper products can be tricky about once every 6 weeks walgreens will have TUFF paper towels on sale for 2 for $1. I usually grab a bunch from that sale when I see it.

Everything else in my photo’s I bought at Publix. They didn’t have the  quart size Hefty bags that were BOGO so I grabbed some Freezer Size and got a rain check for the quart size and hopefully they will get them in stock in the next few weeks. Here is my breakdown of my Publix purchases:

Total Spent: $104.69

Total Saved: $118.78

Percent Saved: 53%

Overall I think it was a pretty good week since I got a lot of meats for dinners and lunch to mix and match with other meals throughout the week. I also got several household items that were needed. Since this was such a good run last week I didn’t do any shopping this week.

Have you done any shopping recently? How did you do?

Also how do you like the new site? It probably looks pretty much the same. Let me know if your having any loading issues and I will look into it!

FRIDAY DEALS – Walgreens & Publix

This week was a light week. Last week when we were in Orlando they asked us to sit in a sales presentation and gave us $75 in Publix Giftcards!! I also had a $3 RR from Walgreens to use up this week.

Sorry no pictures my mom forgets I try to take pictures and just puts everything away before I finish bringing everything in from the car.

PUBLIX SAVED 48%
Spent: $26.60
Saved: $24.88

Some of the great deals I scored were about 10 Green Giant Steamers Frozen Vegetables. They were on sale BOGO and then I had a $0.50/2 coupon so I snatched them for about $1 a piece which is great because they are close to $3 a piece before sales and coupons! I also had a rain check for some Honey Wheat bread that was BOGO a few weeks ago and they were out (granted we went the last day of the sale) so I picked that up while I was in the store. I really can’t remember what else I picked up sorry I promise next week I’ll have pictures.

WALGREENS SAVED 62%
Spent: $6.73
Saved: $11.05

I didn’t get anything all that exciting at Walgreens. I picked up some super cheap candy, Walgreens aluminum foil (there was an in-store Q for $0.59), and Lindsey Black Olives (yum). Like I said earlier my main reason for going to Walgreens was to use my $3 RR that was going to expire.

We don’t really need much from drugstores because over the summer when I was learning how to coupon I went CRAZY in the drugstores and I have a TON OF EVERYTHING from toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, razors, and feminine products. You name it we probably have it.

I found some CVS ECB when I was cleaning and sorting through my coupons but CVS didn’t have anything good this week so hopefully next week they’ll have some good deals for us to use them on.

Well that is all for now. Did anyone else do any shopping/get good deals this week? Let me know!

CVS Deals – Saved 60%

Welcome to my new SPOOKY BLOG. I have decorated my blog for halloween. I love holidays so look for some other changes in the next few months.

This week the only stores I went to were CVS and Winn Dixie. I had some ECB that were going to expire. Here is a picture of everything we bought at CVS:

Milo & Pierre wouldn’t get in my picture :(
I couldn’t find all the receipts (we probably did close to 10 transactions) but from the transactions that I found we probably spent about $60 and saved $85 which comes out to about a 60% savings. Pretty good if you ask me considering we got a ton of candy and beauty products. Those $8/2 cover girl coupons came in handy! All that make up only cost us $3!!
We also went to Winn Dixie and just stocked up on all their BOGO meat sales. We spent about $50 and got 20 meals worth of meat!!
I probably won’t have any “Deal” Posts for a while. We’re pretty much stocked up on EVERYTHING and have a really tight budget for the rest of the month.
But don’t worry I will be posting!
Look forward to the following posts:
MENU PLAN MONDAY – I need to keep up with Menu Plan Mondays. I did it 2 weeks ago and it helped our meal planning for the week A LOT! Everyone always knew what needed to be taken out/what we were having (I printed the menu and put it on the fridge). So everyone laughed at me and said MPM was DUMB but it actually worked well because last week I didn’t do it and all our meals were nuts. No one knew what to eat, nothing was ever taken out of the freezer. It was COMPLETE CHAOS!
COUPONING TIPS – I will be continuing our Couponing Tips section. I haven’t decided what topic I am going to do this week. Probably Sale Cycles or Price Lists. If anyone has anything they want to know about ASAP let me know!
CATHOLIC POSTS – I am trying to write up some more catholic posts. I’ve applied to be on a Catholic Review board where I’ll get to review certain catholic books and wares. If I get accepted I’ll definetely be getting some awesome catholic material for the blog.
TECHNOLOGY – This past weekend I attended a workshop on technology in the classroom. This will go with the catholic articles section also. The presenter (who was a nun and about twice my age!) talked about how to use technology in the classroom with our faith formation programs. It was an EXCELLENT presentation. Her morning session was so good I went to her afternoon session which was on Social Media. So look for an article about what I learned in the coming future with lots of links and resources!!

That is all that I have in the works for now. If there is anything else you’d like to see on here please let me know and I’ll see what I can do. I hope everyone had/has a great weekend!!
